The ranch is located directly on the beach, in the midst of a small jungle. The boss am I – Brigitte. I founded the ranch approximately 35 years ago. Cahuita was still very rural. There was almost no electricity and only one telephone in the whole village. We had to cook over open fire and the water came out of a well. Normally one or two sloths live on the ranch. Iguanas are laying on the branches over our cabinas and from the porch you can see a variety of tropical birds at any time.
Because the horses don’t live on the ranch, but on a large meadow with an open stable, you can only see them on the ranch by day. They arrive at 7AM and remain, depending on the tours, until afternoon on the ranch. After that they get brought back to the meadow.
We have a laundry, we rent bicycles and organise surf lessons.
There’s breakfast on the ranch. The tours are also organised here.
Other than the horse riding we offer a nice chocolate tour to a friendly indigenous family in the mountains of Talamanca. Most of the times I lead this tour myself.
River and lagoon tours on the Rio Estrella in a small boat.
The kayaking is also on the Rio Estrella.
Snorkelling, a guided tour of the national park, zip-lining, riverrafting and so on are other activities. Right around the corner you’ll find two restaurants: Chaos Paradise and the Reggae Bar. They’re both directly on the beach. Next to them you’ll find a small store.
